Sig 365 Vs Glock 43 - Since the announcement of the new Sig P365 micro compact pistol, I have been anxiously awaiting its arrival. I was lucky enough to operate the gun at the Sig Sauer booth at the SHOT Show, but missed the opportunity to shoot it at Range Day. Apparently Sig Sauer has his own shooting day and is not attending Industry Day at the shooting range. He learned his lesson. Luckily my local gun shop booked my first P365 arrival for me. I've been carrying a single stack Glock 43 since it came on the scene and it's been a joy. Will the new Sig P365 replace my trusty Glock? Due to the similarities between these two excellent guns, I will go into detail and describe the differences.

Sig 365 Vs Glock 43
Looking at the above dimensional information, there is no denying that these two guns are strikingly similar. In my opinion, they are what make them stand out; capacity, attractions and price. And let's not forget about the trigger feeling. There are no metrics for this category, but I can say that the standard Sig trigger has a smoother pull and cleaner break than the standard Glock trigger. In fact, more than half of my Glocks have aftermarket triggers for this reason.
Is The Sig Sauer P365 A Glock Killer?
Another notable difference is the attractions. Sig was kind enough to include the XRAY3 day/night scope. With the Glock, you get standard plastic sights for $12. These are important factors to consider when comparing the price difference between micro compact guns.
Dimensionally, the Sig measures 31/32 inches at the magazine well. Where Glock measures 7/8 inch, same place. This slight difference is what Sig engineers used to match the double-stack steel magazine with the polymer grip. The result is a similarly sized pistol that carries 4 more rounds of 9mm than the Glock 43. That said, I still prefer the way the Glock feels in my hand. Although similar in width, the Glock's grip is much larger front and rear, so it fits a little better in my hand. The Sig looks smaller and the grip angle is slightly more perpendicular to the bolt compared to the Glock 43.
The two barrels are 0.29 inches apart and I haven't noticed any measurable difference in defensive shooting with these guns. Let's just say they're not target guns. Sig mentions in the literature that the chamber and cylinder are rated +P. I noticed that the Sig's barrel wall is slightly thicker than the Glock's. But I've been shooting +P defensive ammo in my Glock 43 for years with no problems. Both pistols include a drop-in magazine and a pink extension magazine. The extension does not increase magazine capacity. However, Sig sells a factory +2 extended magazine, which I currently have on order. Holds 12 rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber, which is twice as much as the Glock 43.
While the Glock is a little more comfortable in my hand, I don't think that's a strong enough argument against using the Sig as my new everyday carry. As you can see in the short video below, there is no substitute for capacity. Plus, the trigger and night sights make the P365 a clear winner in my book. Sig has also used a patented rail groove in the frame. Sig Electro Optics is said to be working on a combination of light and laser. My only problem at the moment is finding a nice IWB holster for this new gun. At the time of writing, neither Alien Gear nor Bravo Concealment (my two favorites) offer this. But I found one of the Hazmat holsters I just ordered.
